who prefers just ‘Doug' to his colleagues and customers. Doug's interest in pharmacy stemmed from growing up in Follansbee, West Virginia, down the street from an independent Pharmacy.

There was an independent pharmacy that operated adjacent to the Board's building, and the world of pharmaceuticals began to intrigue him. Doug worked the front counter of a pharmacy while attending West Virginia University intending to become a pharmacist. It was there that he met his wife, Lorrie, and in 1995, became a board certified pharmacist. Doug has experience in many pharmacies since 1991, and has been in North Carolina since 1995 serving patients throughout the local Mooresville area.

When Doug Balog R.Ph. opened HealthSmart Pharmacy Mooresville he had one main goal in mind: to give back to the community he has come to love since moving to Mooresville over a decade ago. How does he accomplish this? By establishing a business practice as a pharmacist that strives to provide incomparable community service at a convenient location.

"I value the opportunity to take care of the community I live in," Doug says. "I enjoy walking down the street and being greeted by name by customers whom we treat like part of the family, and whom we see as names and individuals and not just numbers." Doug has a working relationship with most medical staffs in the surrounding area and is sure he or his staff can solve your health care needs.
